Dapiyuan Mosque is one of the old mosques in Xi'an. It is located in Dapiyuan Lane of Xi'an city and facing the Great Mosque in the south direction. Dapiyuan Mosque was first constructed in the year of 1411, the ninth year of Yongle times during Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). And it was rebuilt and renovated in 1985.
Dapiyuan Mosque occupies an area of 3,333 square meters with a construction area of 1,610 square meters. Its prayer hall covers 354 square meters. It was constructed into a mosque that is featured with Chinese traditional classic style.
There are towering trees and flowers around the Dapiyuan Mosque. It is clean and quiet environment for local Muslim religious activities. Dapiyuan Mosque attracts Muslims there because of its quiet and clean environment inside the mosque. There are green towering trees inside the mosque. And meadows and flowers are also found inside the mosque.
Serving as one of the major mosques for local Muslims activities, Dapiyuan now has held 480 households of Muslims, 13 Xuedong, 4 imam and 5 Manla, with a total population more than 4,000 Muslims. There are 51 Arabic classics and one censor kept in Dapiyuan Mosque.
