There is many karst cave landscape in the caves here in which are found a glorious array of fantastic stalagmites and stalactites and other interesting rock formations such as huge stone pillars and flowers. Moreover, they are rich and imaginative. Their vivid and unique style holds great attraction for tourists.
Since the Ming Dynasty, Zhiyun Cave is also named as "magical view", ranks the first among the eight scenic sites of Stone Forest with the title "fairyland of stone cave". From the mouth of the cave to the exit, there are over 20 major tourist attractions in total.
Zhiyun Cave had the earliest construction development time for almost 400 years. Little Zhiyun Cave is also known as Dieyun Cliff, across the way of Zhuyun Cave, which is a couple of hundred meters away from Zhiyun Cave. At the roof of the cave is one natural "sky-light" through which one could take a look at a beautiful array of interesting-looking rocks below. There're a lot of spacious chambers inside and many fascinating rock formations including stalactites and stalagmites, columns and curtains. The stalactite rise up like tree-trunks to meet the stalactites suspended from the roof. Here the nature had counterfeited art in its construction, since that she had turned the arch of its roof with stones as delicately fitted and exquisitely molded as if by the hand of skilled craftsmen.
Each of the karst cave landscape has distinctive features of its own. The conditions of illumination, ventilation and safety are all favorable and its road traffic is fairly convenient. It would take about 4 hours to accomplish the task of going sightseeing of the three caves. The vendor's stands were set up at the mouth of the cave; you could shop for drinks, foods and other mementos outside the entrance of the cave.
The cave is a place of little contrasts in temperature, for example, it's warm in winter and cool in summer, which brings an irresistible temptation to the visitors, but the fact that the place is indeed humid here. It is therefore suggested that the people from other cities and provinces visit here first and then visit the Stone Forest after the travelling peak. It's no good to wear shoes with high heels and do not need to take the lighting fixture or other appliances for exploration.
