Visa Requirements
One important thing to tell here is that you require a Chinese visa. Therefore, to travel via ferry one needs to apply for a Chinese visa prior to setting out from Hong Kong. It is important to carry your passport on the trip as there are border inspections.

The first ferry runs from Hong Kong to Shenzhen at 9.00AM in the morning. There are multiple ferry services available throughout the day with the last ferry running at 8.30PM. However, it must be noted that these timing are subject to change. The prices for these ferries are quite affordable. A standard one-way ticket costs around HK$105. No ticket is required for children under one year of age. However, for children between 1-5 years old they pay half the price of the full ticket. Tickets can be booked through the tour service providers online. If you are unable to get an online ticket, you can easily purchase the ticket at the Ferry Terminal.

The one-way trip takes around 50 minutes to reach the destination. The trip is beautiful and enjoyable with total comfortable and air conditioned boats. No food is is served onboard, but you can buy some snacks for yourself from a small snack selling cabin on the boat. Travelling by ferry is quite an enjoyable experience.
