Tuqiao Mosque
Tuqiao Mosque is one of the major mosques in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. The Tuqiao Mosque is divided into two parts including Tuqiao Upper Mosque and Tuqiao Lower Mosque. Tuqiao Mosque was built in 1791 during the Qing Dynasty and it occupies an area of 2170.74 square meters.
Tuqiao Upper Mosque is located in Jinke North Road, Jinniu District of Chengdu. Tuqiao Upper Mosque was beautifully constructed in the style of Qing Dynasty. The whole architecture was completely built with wood. The buildings of the upper mosque mainly comprises the gate, the main hall, a courtyard, a corridor room, and a washing room. The main hall of the mosque applies a classic palace style. It is carpeted in green and has an ambience of solemnity and majesty. The exterior of the main hall is decorated with beautiful paintings and carvings, which fully shows the artistic talents of Muslims.
Tuqiao Lower Mosque is located in No. 3, Jinniuba Road, Jinniu District of Chengdu. The lower mosque consists of a prayer hall, a courtyard, wing rooms, a lecture hall, bunker building, and wood steles. The prayer hall can hold more than 200 people to do prayers. The bunker building standing in front of the courtyard has a history of 270 years.
