Laohua Mosque

Laohua Mosque is located on the Huasi Street in Linxia city, where is honored as China’s Mecca. Laohua Mosque was built in the year of 1368 and has a long history of 600 years. The mosque is in the heart of the Muslim community and is one of the best mosques in the area. Laohua mosque has the reputation of being one of a 5-star mosque in Linxia. There are many excellent Muslim scholars coming from Laohua Mosque, including Ma Laichi in Qing Dynasty, Zhou Wenkui, Mazhen in the modern times. Besides, the mosque insists in the idea that the Muslim culture should be as important as the scientific and cultural knowledge in the modern society. Therefore, the  mosque successively opened learning classes for Arabic, Persian and Chinese, which have cultivated lots of outstanding talents.
