Beidahuai Tree Mosque

Located in the alley of Beidahuai Tree Street in Jinan, Beidahuai Tree Mosque was built during the reigns of the Hongzhi (1488–1505) Emperor of the Ming dynasty. Significant repair works were undertaken during the reigns of the Tongzhi and Guangxu Emperor of the Qing dynasty. Extension followed during the early Republican era. In total, the mosque covers an area of 800 square meters of which 394 square meters are covered by buildings.

The basic layout of the mosque follows the classic courtyard style of a traditional Chinese house with major buildings arranged along a main axis of symmetry. The main axis of the Beidahuai Tree Mosque is oriented in the north-south direction. Beidahuai Tree Mosque was awarded one of the best mosques by the Shandong Province Islamic Association in 1998.
