Aba Prefecture is said to be God’s Garden, with so many captivating and beautiful sights which are unbelievable. Jiuzhaigou only make up 1% of the beautiful scenery of Aba Prefecture. Today famous visitors of Aba include survivalist Bear Grylls and Olympic Swimming Bronze Medalist, Fu Yuanhui.
So exactly how amazing is Aba Prefecture? Well in short it accounts for more than half of China’s most beautiful sightseeing!
1. Mount Siguniang
Mount Siguniang is said to be the Alps of the East and is the ideal place to enjoy hiking. It doesn’t matter what season you visit Mount Siguniang, the scenery is always fantastic with the scenery of snow capped mountains and the colorful forests.
2. Taoping Qiang Village
The residents of Taoping Qiang Village are of course the Qiang ethnic minority. The Qiang ethnic minority was first recorded in oracle bone script as one the oldest ethnic minorities of China. Due to the distinctive Qiang architecture the village has been described as the mysterious castles of the east.
3.Jiuzhai Valley
As one of China’s most spectacular scenic sites, Jiuzhai Valley is the perfect destination all year round with the change of seasons and the most sensational landscapes. There are endangered plants and species which you can discover with an adventurous hike in the colorful clusters of the forest.
4. Huanglong Scenic Area
Huanglong Scenic Area in Sichuan is well known for its colorful pools formed by calcite deposits, especially in Huanglong Valley (Yellow Dragon Valley), as well as diverse forest ecosystems, snow-capped peaks, waterfalls and hot springs. Huanglong is also home to many endangered species including the Giant Panda and the Sichuan Golden Snub-nosed Monkey. In 1992, Huanglong national scenic area was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
5. Muni Valley
Famed as one important part of the Huanglong Scenic sightseeing spot, which has been reputed as the UNESCO World Heritage, Muni Valley gains its great reputation for its five superb sceneries including breathtaking waterfalls, sea of blossoming flowers, clear pools, crystal springs and exquisite stalactites. Upon entering the Muni Valley, a group of natural sceneries, mountains, waterfalls, trees and flowers will catch your eyes with their peculiar, odd, magnificant and dreamy features.
6. Aba County
Driving along the Qinghai Tibet Highway you will definitely pass by Aba County. The county is often referred to as Home of the Gods, quite rightly so with the beautiful Shenzuo Scenic Area and Lianbao Yeze Scenic Area. There are also 42 Tibetan Buddhist Temples in the county with the area reputed as the Tibetan Buddhism Culture expo.
7. Shenzuo Village
Shenzuo Village is 450 kilometers from Chengdu and is famous for its natural scenery. The beautiful river separates the forest from the grassland and the village is given the reputation of Home of the Gods.
8. Wolong National Nature Reserve
Wolong’s panda breeding center covers 200,000 hectares of land and in terms of environment and the number of pandas compared to Chengdu Panda Base, Wolong is said to be more fascinating.
