Jade Dragon Snow Mountain
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, located 15 kilometers north of Lijiang, is a national-level scenic area. Soaring at 5,596 metres, this mountain range is one of the most beautiful in the region and evokes enchanting visions to the visitors. You can reach a height of 4600 metres, a very respectable achievement for a first taste of the Tibetan flanks waiting for you if you will be lucky enough to proceed with your travels up North.

Tiger Leaping Gorge
Tiger Leaping Gorge, located 60 kilometers north of Lijiang City, is consider as one of the deepest gorges on the planet, and it has the best hiking trail in the Lijiang area.It is naturally divided into three sections. The first section is the mouth of the fast flowing Jingsha River which is the narrowest and uppermost section. When the river enters the middle section, it drops another 100 meters (330 feet) and its flow rate increases to an amazing speed. The third section is also the lowest section acclaimed for being the wildest attraction of all!

How to get there: There are no buses can reach the Tiger Leaping Gorge directly, you can take the Tourist Bus to the Tiger Leaping Gorge.
Lugu Lake
Lugu Lake is located in the North West Yunnan plateau. Lugu Lake is a horseshoe shape natural lake in the Hengduan Mountain System. It is 48.5 square kilometers in area and about 93 meters deep at its deepest point.It is home to the Mosu minority which is China’s only matriachal society and has some of China’s most spectacular scenery. It is called the “mother lake” by the Mosuo people.

Black Dragon Pool
Black Dragon Pool, also known as Dragon Spring Temple, is a famous pond in the scenic Jade Spring Park located at the foot of Elephant Hill, about twelve kilometers away from the city center.It was first built in 1394 during the Ming Dynasty and offers a spectacular view on the region’s tallest mountain, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, over its white marble bridge. The park features several smaller temples and pavilions: the Moon-Embracing Pavilion, the Dragon God Temple and the threefold overlap Five-Phoenix Tower.
