Huizhou is a great conception, including Jixi, Shexian, Tunxi, Qimen, Xiuning County of the southern Anhui, as well as Jiangxi Wuyuan, almost every county is historical and cultural town, followed the old system, and have ancient folk customs. When mention Huizhou culture, many people immediately think of Huizhou architecture. The sheer number of Huizhou ancient houses and the beauty of the architectural style of any one region can not be compared.

It is generally said that three places can be the representative of the Huizhou culture or Huizhou architecture: Tunxi Old Street which is under the jurisdiction of Huangshan City; Jiangxi Wuyuan; Xidi Hongcun in Yi County. These ancient villages are a typical representative of the regional culture of the ancient Huizhou, also a typical representative of the culture of late China's feudal society. Huizhou has become a place many where photographers and travel-loving people want to go.

Wuyuan save a great mount of ancient villages, and is an emerald of ecological civilization, also an exposition park of architectural art. There are four main characteristics of the “ancient” shooting in Wuyuan: the ancient buildings of Ming and Qing dynasties, the Lingyan ancient cave group, old trees and ancient culture.

Most of the ancient houses of the ancient Huizhou area are white walls with gray roofs, so the overall color effect is a black and white, showing the simple and elegant beauty.

Wuyuan is an ink painting, and some people call it “the most beautiful village”.

Sixi Village and Yan Village is located in territory of Sikou Town, Wuyuan County, Jiangxi Province, about 13 kilometers from the Ziyang town. For centuries, villagers are doing business in Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Shanghai and even Hunan and Guangxi, principally engaged in the timber, tea, salt and other business activities.

The whole village is the ancient buildings of Ming and Qing, with the quartzite floor in the villages. The ancient building group is backed by mountains, facing the stream and paddy fields, surrounded by green areas, elegant natural scenery.

From a distance these ancient houses have the appearance of a whitewashed wall of a large area of blank. The whitewashed wall is embedded with several high and low small holes and windows, increasing the space-level rhythm.

In Sixi Village and Yan Village, everywhere is permeated with the essence of Confucian culture of “honesty, trustworthiness, justice, benevolence” and the profound Huishang concept.

The village so far has intact 56 ancient houses built by the merchants of Qing Dynasty, and hailed as the Qing Dynasty Business house group.

Official residence is different from the business houses, the official residence pay more attention to the boldness of vision, while business houses focus on wealth. Sixi village and Yan village always reflect this idea of the merchant.
