Liuzhou Sanjiang 100 Feasts

10/19/2011 Harrod Sights Liuzhou 2388

This is the famous Chengyang Bridge in Sanjiang County, Liuzhou City. The bridge is a perfect combination of painting, bridge, corridor, veranda and Chinese pavilion. It has two platforms (at the two ends of the bridge), 3 piers, 4 spans, 5 pavilions, 19 verandas, and three floors. The piers are made of stone, the upper structures are mainly wooden, and the roofs are covered with tiles. The bridge has wooden handrails on both sides. It is said that there is no a nail or a rivet on this bridge, very miracle.

There are many Dong female to stop tourists to cross the bridge at the entrance, they are singing while toasting, you must drink wine to cross it.

Sanjiang County is located in the junction of Guangxi, Hunan, and Guizhou province, where there are green hills and clear rivers, dotted with many ethnic minorities’ villages beside the green hills. And Dong customs is charming and fantastic.

We came to a small courtyard to have a rest and see dance performances, beside us were the local men and women doing handcrafts, something similar to the embroidery.

Two grandmothers were selling some local ornaments. The one wearing a white towel seemed smoking, while the other one holding an umbrella was rather clam, looking vicissitudes and indifferent.

Many people were playing cards and watching TV in the house.

We came to the field of 100 feasts, and came across interesting things, that is the folk song, and you must sing the right song to pass, the last there was a visitor helping us to pass.

Before the 100 feast, again there were some songs and dances.

In fact, the 100 feast is actually like Chinese rural wedding stream-lined meal, but the dishes were more elegant, meaning those visitors are guests. Approaching night, Dong men and women layout tables, ready to serve the meal.

Varieties of food: braised meat, oils chestnut and cakes.

I found a girl with natural ethnic pure, clear eyes, and graceful smile.

I was holding my rice bowl with one hand, while holding chopsticks on the other hand and strolling around everywhere to eat my favorite dishes on the tables. Dong people are very hospitable, no matter where I go, they would first toasted wine to me, and the wine was also good to drink, sweet.

Still was that beautiful Dong girl…

I took my food just like him.

In the end of the meal, Dong people will find some visitors to toast, female tourists were surrounded by several Dong young men, and they do not go away unless the girls drink off the wine, the same case as the men visitors were surrounded by Dong girls, and that scene was very interesting.

After dinner there was a show, and I saw several grandmothers sitting quietly in the corner to watch the show. I think, they may be also very beautiful when they were young, just as the beautiful as the girl I mentioned above.
