There are many elegant and quiet places in Shanghai, but I would like to the Moller Villa most, so I went there.
Located in the junction of Yan'an Road and Shaanxi South Road, Moller Villa is a Scandinavian-style garden villa, and has been 75 years. There are Norwegian-style minarets, Gothic spires and gorgeous color in the villa, and is known as “fairy-tale castle” in Shanghai. 
It was a British Jew called Mahler that built this villa. Mahler came to Shanghai in 1919 and became rich by betting on horse races. One day, Mahler's daughter dreamed of a fairy-tale pattern of a large house at night. Then Mahler built this unique Norwegian-style house according to his daughter’s dream. Moller Villa has changed a lot and now it has become as the Moller Villa Hotel.
The main building connects with the annex building in the Moller Villa, jagged, steep roofs, odd shape.

The whole floor of the villa presents rich red, with brick construction, embedded color ceramic tiles, looks like entering a fairy tale world.
Although the building is the Nordic Norwegian-style shape, but the gardens and decoration of buildings are quite in Chinese style. There is a stone lion at the gate of the villa, which is the same as the traditional Chinese wealthy mansions.
The shape of the main buildings is very beautifully, and the decorative roof intertwines with the roof of auxiliary buildings, which just like a small magnificent palace.
The wall of the main building is embedded with colored tiles, full of characteristics.
Most of the interior wall is made of red-brown teak, and the carved decorations are all western style.
Villa's gate is small, but after walking into the house, you can see another elegant interior landscape.
The decoration of the aisles and hallways are also very elegant.
